Flash files embedded into web pages

Posted: 08-26-2006, 06:54 PM
Folks:

I am looking at the audio version of one of my favorite books - Think & Grow
Rich - located at http://www.angelfire.com/biz7/programsthatpay/tgr.html
I would like to download flash video files, embedded in this web page, for
offline listening.

* Does anyone know if NERO Software Suit (popular DVD burning, etc
program) can be used to download/save Macromedia Flash video embedded into a
web page ?
* Is there any other software program that can save the flash files
located on this web page ?

Thanks,
Jo.

There's no problem that I know of specifically, but if you use Internet
Explorer, you can save the file for offline viewing. Just go to Favorites ->
Add to Favorites, and choose the option to save it for offline viewing.

There are of course other ways to save most content, but it gets more
involved.

I generally find that if you examine the page source you can find the
reference (search for .swf) and in Mozilla you can generally enter this as a
URL and download it to disk. Not sure if this is posible in IE. Might be,
just never tried!

Other options are downloaders such as WGET or WinHTTrack.

IIRC there is a Proxomitron filter that changes Flash embedded objects into
links. Shouldn't be too hard to write one, anyway!

Just FYI, it is. Doesn't work too well when you're working with some .php or
..asp pages, but that'll defnitely work if it's HTML.
