Floppy Drive Doesn't Work - Controller installed twice

I just recently installed WinXP on my cousin's Gateway
400MHz box. It's been working great with the exception
of the floppy drive. When you open My Computer or
Windows Explorer, it doesn't even appear. When you look
in Device Manager, it shows up as installed twice (Std
floppy disk controller). Within each, there's a message
that its not working properly because there aren't enough
resources. I can right-click and uninstall one of them,
then the floppy starts working great...swing! But once I
reboot...same problem comes back to haunt me! Any
suggestions you can provide would appreciated! Later.

Have you tried uninstalling BOTH of them before rebooting?

never discovered with problem not reading with install
winxp.. Had owned xp three months released? Are able get
bios setting see rather or not floopy first boot device
or have something. First winxp booted hold R button do
reinstall tht it. Winxp handle with floopy drive at all.
Have back wizard window save floopy back too network
I would recomand yu go bio setting make sure have floopy
first booted device aint hurt have cd-rom apapi.
Let know help u with problem seemed be there just could
bad floopy drive troubleshoot off another system if dont
read another know tht problem
