| On my cousin windows xp computer she has forgotten her password. She has lost all administrative rights and cannot install software and use select programs. Can you tell me the solution to getting back her administrative rights, and if it involves formatting a little step-by- step on how to do so for xp. | Guest

| Bruce, I'm a real novice at this, so I don't understand how to do what you suggested. I am the computer administrator, and have a password. I want to remove the password but it won't let me unless I can tell it what my existing password is and I don't remember it. The hint is no help at all. Please help! And I need step by step specifics. I have Windows XP home edition. I really appreciate your help. Quote:
