I have had freelancer 1 yr now and gone for a reinstall
and now when i try to log onto the global server it just
stays on the same page with nothing happeneing plus ive
had comp probs and reset back to last time it worked fine
my o/s is windows xp pro if there is some thing i am
missing i could do with some one pointing this out i am an
intermediate user so understand a little of what is
happening please email me if you can help as i am missing
the server life and all my friends out there

Hi Adrian,

Sounds like a connectivity issue. Perhaps you installed a
firewall or a router lately that's blocking you. If so, try
using only the XP ICF firewall, and disable the others. :-)

does anyone know how to get through the 22 gates in the
race against dexter hovis,or is it possible to bypass
this and continue the missions??

Hi arejay,

Here's how to beat Hovis. It took me a few tries as well. :-)

1. Buy the ship that's on sale at the dealership on the Battleship.
2. Get ready to press Shift+W as soon as the 3 count is done
3. Use the nav points as your guide instead of looking at the rings
4. Use A and D to strafe when you have troubles turning.
5. Practice
6. Practice some more ;-)

I got it on the 2nd go

I think i was playing on easy though.

And he did run into somthing, i overtook him on the third last ring or
so and then it wasy gravy.

Keep trying.

I am looking for the Planet or Base that sells level-10 turrets. Also, where is the Freighter that handles level-10 turrets?
I've been to the unknown system that has Planet Primus (planet of the apes?) but at the bar they keep telling me to come back later. Though I haven't been to the Red Heissen home planet yet. So anyway. where is the level-10 freighter??

Hi Cygnus,

You'll have to buy your way into the Red's favor, or kill a lot
of police patrols to gain access to their bases and buy those
ships and weapons. Tip, visit www.lancersreactor.com for
complete lists of ships and which bases they are sold at. :-)

Dario,

Freelancer should run just fine on Windows XP.

Could you reply with a copy of your DXDiag text. This will help us to point
you in the right direction to resolve your issue.

To reply with a dxdiag text:
Click on Start -> Run and type 'dxdiag' in the run box, then click 'Ok'.
When the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window appears you will see tabs across the
top click each tab and run the diagnostic tests on each. Then click the
'Save All Information' button, which will create a text file on your system
where you specify, as in My Documents or Desktop. Open that text file, copy
the contents and paste it to a reply.

Do you get any error messages?

Did you "upgrade" your Windows ME install by simply installing Windows XP
over the top? If you did you probably need to re-install Freelancer again.
