I got round this problem by plugging the hard drive into another computer to
install, and it worked fine on that computer... but then on moving the hard
drive back to the original computer, it starts loading vista but then
restarts itself. It won't even start in safe mode.
Since it works on the other computer, i think it's some sort of a hardware
compatibility issue.
