for my son and they will not work. The pop up says that I do not have

You can right click on the executable file (in the directory the gameinstalled to) and go to properties. Click on the compatibility tab, and
select compatibility mode using Windows XP SP2.

Some of the games won't even let me install. I'm not sure what I am doingwrong.

The Install program does not recognize Vista as a compatable OS.Explore the install CD. Find the Setup.exe/Install.exe file on the install
CD and right click it and set compatiblity mode to Win XP sp2 and then run
the setup.

Sometimes in cases like that, I use the Run As Adminstrator option to getaround the XP not found bit.
