games still won't start

Hi Brad,
There have been and will be virus around that can cause strange results.
Not sure you have one but the system is acting strangely. Make sure you do
the windows update thing and get the latest files. Then you should check
your system for virus to see if you got caught. If so, you may be able to
restore to a restore point prior to the time you had problems. The problem
with the restore is, you will loose anything you installed after the restore
point in time. You could set a restore point now, then do the previous date
restore so you don't loose information.
