there may be filter drivers that are failling the device's start path. open
up the properties for each device in device manager (right click ->
properties). open the details tab, look at the following properties: "Class
lower filters", "Class upper filters", "Device upper filters", Device lower
filters". note that not all properties may be listed. report back any
values in these properties
