I just bought a new GigaByte MB and need to get into the BIOS to disable the
on board sound. Please tell me how to enter the BIOS. Thanks.

When you first boot up on the bottom of the screen it will normally tell you
the key or keys to hit to get into bios. Typically it is f2 or the default
key.

It should tell you on the first screen it paints, like hitting Esc, Del,
F1, F8, or whatever. If you want specific answers, provide specifics.
So far, all you've said is you own a Gigabyte motherboard. They make
more than one model. Didn't your motherboard come with a manual? If
not, they are available online at
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboa...anual_List.htm.

You bought a new mobo without a manual? Be that aside, go
to the GigaByte website and download a manual.

To enter the manual you'll press a key which the manual will
tell you and you may need the manual to select the correct
BIOS settings.

Do a search with your motherboard model and one or more of the answers
should get you to the gigabyte home page. You can then go to the
support section and download the manual which will help yo ion the
future. If the first screen goe by to fast I would try esc and the del
as the first shots but the manual is easier.

At the first screen, you will see chipset info and at the top right of the
screen an Energy logo.. there will be a memory count and an instruction to
press the 'DEL' or 'F1' or 'F2' key.. most likely the 'DEL' key.. press it
more than once..

Greetings --

In the extremely unlikely event that your PC's manual doesn't
contain the needed information, try one or both of the following:

How do I access my computer's setup (BIOS)
http://www.iomega.com/support/documents/2157.html

Wim's BIOS Page
http://www.wimsbios.com/

Accessing Motherboard BIOS
