Gigabyte GA-7VAXP mobo or Sapphire ATI X700 video with RC1 install

Posted: 09-17-2006, 04:25 AM
Has anyone had any problems or success with either of these parts with RC1?

They were no problem with B2 build 5684, but I get the BSOD during the last
stage of the upgrade (or clean install) with the code 0X00000124 now.

These are the only parts left that have not been diabled or removed in an
attempt to get a good install with RC1.

Thanks in advance, cause I runnin' out of ideas....

Update:

I have found that the problem was with the ATI X700 video card driver. The
install runs fine with a different ATI video card. Once the X700 is back in,
the computer will only boot in safe mode. As I don't know at this time how
to suppress the RC1 from "updating the driver" I can't use an older driver.

I think that the way the software drives the X700 to use memory is causing
the conflict.

Its all very odd.
