Any suggestions?

I would go with 'Linux For Dummies' too, because new users tend to be able
to follow it easily. Even a 100% NT IT person who's company I recently
setup on a Linux backbone managed to work his way through it.

Don't forget the online ones though, some are very well written.
Mandrake's used to be one of the best, so I suspect that the Mandriva one
is just as good.

A very good Linux entry book ,with examples of Mandrxxx screens is :
'Linux in easy steps' by Mike McGrath ISBN 1-84078-275-7

It shows a lots of screens pics which makes it easy to install and start
using our favourite OS .
It includes a chapter on CLI and a list with most used cmds.
To me a very good intro to both the Linux Desktop as well CLI

Don't know if they have Dutch translations but Running Linux published
by O'Reilly has always been one of my favorites. Looks like a new
edition is coming out later this month.
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/runlinux5/index.html
Almost everything from O'Reilly is a good choice. Tim O'Reilly is a
strong Linux supporter.

As other's have said Mandr*s electronic manuals are worthwhile. Another
book to look at is RUTE. You can download it for free in pdf or html
from here: http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz or you can also buy it
in dead tree form :-)from Amazon.

Cheers,
Goph
