Gothic 3

Posted: 07-03-2007, 03:33 PM
When i play, try to play Gothic 3, the game starts up fine, and after about
5 min the game will load the level, but im faced with horrid frame rates,
4-9FPS. I've downloaded an INI program and looked though thier fourms,
settings what others have gotten to work, but to no avail, hopefully someone
here can help me or point me in the right direction.. here are my system
specs:
I have the latest Gothic 3 patch installed too.

Vista Ult x32/x64 (does bad on both of them)
4gb Patriot (4x1) DDR2 pc800
eVGA GeForce 8800GTX 768mb ram with the latest drivers from Nvidia
Giga-byte GA-M59SLI-S5
AMD 6000+
2x120's RAID-0 OS installed
2x200's RAID-0 Backup CD Images
2x500's RAID-0 Games

TIA
Drew

HOLY HELL! 240.. 400.. 1000... 1.64TB of storage?!

Damn dude, install Windows XP, try an ATi card, disable one CPU core, try
the drivers from guru3d.com, or just give me your system so I can "Evaluate"
your system performance for like 4 years.

You ever have one of those drives crash? Exactly how many games do you have
installed in that 1TB? Wait, let me guess, you have at least 1 "cold
cathode" light in your case, OR you have some pimped out machine. Come on
man, post a picture of Flickr, you know you want too.

Actually, my PC's built for speed, for for flashiness.. I'm afraid you'd be
let down LOL

I have XP installed, I just do not want to use it for 1 game. and I actually
goofed, I have 2x320's not 2x200's.. As for trying ATI.. I'd rather try
playing with out a monitor then use one of them..

I have over 130 games installed on that 1TB drive that I've accumulated over
the past years.. and yes, I have had 1 drive fail a long time ago.. well it
started to fail and i had everything backed up on that drive in less then an
hour after i got the first warning sign.. LOL I do back up my important data
to a DVD every now and then, with a copy on one of the other arrays. I have
not tried the disabling one core yet, i'll try that tonight

Sorry to be a pain but can I ask the obvious question, Have you tried the
latest patche(s) for the game as Gothic 3 is notoriously buggy out of the
box. Myself and a few friends found the same thing and the latest patch
seemed to resolve, Also the game is stuttery for the first few mins on start
up due to caching, when this has finished it is usually fine.
