Graphics Accelerator

Posted: 02-20-2004, 07:11 PM
Hello, I was hoping someone could help me out. I have a
Compaq running XP and I purchased a Stealth S80 graphics
card. I installed the card and plugged in the monitor and
began the install of the driver. Now the display icons
are huge and I dont have a toolbar. So I switched back to
the original monitor port and the screen is fine but the
driver is not found. I get the following message. The ATI
control panel failed to initialize because no ATI driver
is installed or ATI driver is not working properly. The
ATI control panel will now exit. I have deleted/removed
a few times and still get the same results. any
suggestions? Thanks

Try downloading the latest Radeon Graphics driver from here:
http://www.ati.com/home/online/CatalystXPdriver.html

Another thing to try if your compaq has onboard video would be to disable it
in the BIOS, and set the video boot to AGP or PCI depending on what slot
your new video card is in. Please post your results or any questions you
might on what I've posted. Good Luck.
