Hard Drive Volume Missing

This weekend I decided to do some upgrading and upgraded
to an AMD Athlon XP 2000+, NForce 2 AN35VN Ultra 400
Motherboard and 512 DDR-333 ram, obviously I reinstalled
XP as it would not start after the upgrade, I activated
by web and my system was running fine, till this morning.
I have a 40gig Western Digital and a 20gig Seagate HDD in
my machine, I started the dreaded process of installing
the XP pro Service Pack 1 and updated all the updates
available from the Net, then suddenly my Seagate HDD was
removed from the Device Manager and replaced with a CT#2
0!4A drive and I am unable to access my drive, I keep
getting a "Drive is not Formatted" error.

This only started after installing the SP1 and updating
from the Web. I can't seem to get it fixed, anybody have
some advice, plz.

First thing, since you've been upgrading, check that the ide cable to this
drive is seated well or replace it. I've had this happen before.
