Yes, Mouse and keyboard. There are various HID drivers. It is not exactly
intuitive which to use for generic HID devices.

I thought I had them all but then found that I did not.
What I have is an experimental drive that has XP pro loaded. I take my new
device, then I plug it in. Then in the Control panel, find out what drivers
and files the device is using. With that information I can then look through
Target designer for the right component to do.

Having an experimental system with XP Pro installed is invaluable for a
novice like me.

Strange behavior, seen it few times for other devices during XPE startup.
(This was happening while I was experimenting with PNP capabilities of XPE).
For me it happened when windows tries to install better drivers for device
or bus device. And yellow exclamation was error code that requested me to
reboot device.
So you should provide us with error code also.

Use HID-compliant mouse component.

Don't create components, also do not force values in registry for your PNP
device. Since these keys names are changing for all USB devices.

Do you have third-party drivers with your device or you are using windows
mouse drivers?

If you have third-party drivers just copy files don't add registry entries
or FBA registration info. Windows PNP will handle installation. It is always
better not having some registry entries than having bad ones than can
influence PNP. PNP can install all drivers that are not required for system
booting, from scratch, if they don't have entries in registry.

For experiment, try starting XPE without PS/2 mouse present.

Give us more info on drivers your device is using, so we can try to help.

Hi Slobdan,

I'm using Windows Mouse Drivers.

Tried your suggested of not having the PS/2 Mouse plugged in, same result.

I get the following error code: The device can not start (Code: 10)

See www.parity-ict.com/mwt for a screen shot.

Thanks for the help so far.

Unfortunately I'm going to be out of the office on Monday and Tuesday next
week so I may not post again until Wednesday next week, depending how things
go.
