Help-- application suite clone deployment question.

Posted: 03-21-2005, 06:31 AM
I have the job of setting up and maintaining a group of 20 computers that
will be used by elementry school kids. My network is a jumble of various
hardware but all will be running XP. I have installed XP on all and set up
their hardware drivers etc including SP2. I would like to install
applications and set up shortcuts on one machine, image it and roll it out to
the other machines. The application suite setup will take quite a while
(several of the applications will need compatibility set up). NT used to
have a utility to do this but I don't rememer what it was.

I have imaged the OS from each of the machines so that when the kids mess it
up I will be able to restore the OS quickly, I would like to be able to do
the same with the apps.

Thanks for your help.

Dave

Hi Dave,
Norton Ghost works well. Deep Freeze from faronics.com works great in a
class/lab setting.
