Help! My Itunes and Quicktime are Dead!

I have tried reinstalling a number of times both applications (itunes and Quicktime) they are still doing the same damn thing ..that is My itunes just comes up as a black screen with fuzzy text jumbled upand i cant do isht with it.... and my damn quicktimes plays only audio no video in both IE and firefox im getting so frustrated PLEASE HELP!i have still have loads of RAM (2gb) when using them what is the damn problem? is it in this stupid vista home premium 32bit ? should i consider downgrading?
