| Hi, Installing Vista overwrote the customized mbr used by HP to install and allow for recovery on your machine. You need to contact them regarding the proper way to access the recovery partition as the XP standard will not work (running fixmbr from a command prompt on the Recovery Console would normally be the way to do this). A bit late to hear this, but Vista should not be installed on a system with a recovery partition rather than recovery media as you lose access to the recovery options (but you know this now). -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Cellison" <Cellison@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AF84B2D2-F269-43FA-B7DD-89EB5292DC2F@microsoft.com...
