Help recovering lost photos

Posted: 01-12-2004, 08:59 PM
I recently upgrade from Windows XPHome to XP Pro on my
Sony Vaio. I had thought that I had transfered some very
important photos to my D drive and installed XP Pro on my
C drive. Unfortunately, somehow the photos didn't end up
on my D drive and now they are lost, is there any way to
recover them?

Thanks in advaNCE for any assistance,

Carol

Look in the C:\Documents and Settings folder... is there an account there
with an old UserName (the one you used on XP Home).....

You may be able to retrieve them from there.

Otherwise do a search for all files and folders (including hidden and
system, you never know) for *.jpg or *.bmp whichever format you know the
photos were in and see if you can find them

Carol,

Go to www.runtime.org and download a demo version of GetDataBack.
There are 2 versions, one for FAT and one for NTFS. Download the one
you need for your file system. Let it scan the drive and see if it can
recover the data. You will need to purchase it to copy any files from
it. If you need any help, email me.

Thank you,
Jody Wilkes
