Hewlett Packard 4100C Scanner/Windows XP

Posted: 09-03-2003, 08:52 PM
This old scanner is listed as supported by Windows Image
Acquisition. Here's the steps I've taken:
1. Shut computer off
2. Connect Scanner to computer with USB cable
3. Plug power into Scanner
4. Turn on Computer
5. After XP has loaded, push the green scan button on the
front panel of the scanner.
At this point, a New Hardware Found icon is supposed to
appear in the lower-right corner of the computer screen.
I can hear the scanner making noise, but nothing is
happening on screen. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing
wrong, or better yet, how to get this scanner working on
XP. Thanks
