I use Easy CD-DA Extractor for ripping in about 15 audio formats,
conversion of any file format to any of the others file formats
available including mp3. If your source file is wav, flac, ape, wma,
etc, conversion to mp3 is fast and easy. This is a pay program but you
can download a free trial version that works for many days before you
have to pay or the program quits working. It is easy to delete, and
the program does not give you uninvited guests such as spyware, virus,
worms etc. The program does not handle Real media at all. The higher
the bit rate of your source file is, the better the results for the
converted mp3, and wav, flac, ape, wma lossless, and other lossless
formats give the best results.

You are limited to mp3 on Myspace only if you want Myspace to store
your music. If you have a website where you can store the music files
and that allows linking to them, you can link from MySpace for the
song with a bit of html code. I have used flash audio often for
MySpace, since most computers can handle flash these days. However
conversion of master audio files to flash audio can require a rather
expensive flash encoder. I also have used wma and Real audio on
MySpace by linking to my website.
