hiccup in networked games

When I play games online or on LAN, my game freezes and unfreeze randomly.
single player works great, but online game cause the game to hiccup.

I'm using a WUSB54GC which is not supported for 64bit yet (probably never,
since linksys = lazy) but am using ralink's (same chipset) 64bit chipset. it
works great outside of gaming enviornment. I can download massive files in a
snap (800 kbps or so) but as soon as I play online games things fall apart.

Is there anyway I can find out whats causing the hiccup? I tried
preformance monitor, but it's all moonspeak to me. if all else fails I'm
going 32 bit vista... and if that doesn't work.. back to xp. everything used
to work great in xp. sigh..
