Most ISPs allow "x" amount of space for each customer's mailbox (check with
your ISP to find out this information). When the amount of mail stored on
the server reaches that limit, new mail is refused and is bounced back to
the senders. If your email was from your ISP, it sounds like "high water
martk" is their term for a full mailbox.

Do you use an email program? If using OE, you can configure it to delete
email messages off of the email server when you download them. Other
email programs have similar settings.

If this mailbox is managed via a web interface, go to the site where you
collect your mail. Delete the stored mail. If there is a "spam" or "junk
folder" feature, delete its contents too. NOTE: Make copies of email that
you need to keep and save them to your hard drive. Then delete.
