Greetings:
I have a problem with my home network. My configuration is atypical
in that I have an Apple Platinum basestation attached to my router via
HomePlug and a couple of other of HomePlug nodes. When I transfer
"small" files, less than 200 mbytes, over this branch, the network
works fine. When I try gigabyte size files, it starts out fine then
slows down and then stops. I have tried this using AFP, SMP and
TCP/IP connections. I had a similar problem awhile back with the
Airport, but after replacing some capacitors it appears to work fine.
The other parts of the network off this network don't have this
problem. One of the HomePlug nodes is a Windows XP system. That
computer indicates intermittent loss of network connection. Also,
when downloading large files from the internet, like American Army,
it works just fine.
I would like some information on where the problem is occurring. Is it
due to the Airport Basestation, the Homeplug units or a software
error?
Thanks
