how can i clean my intellimouse explorer scroll?

whenever I try to move my scroll, since it's dirty, it
works instead as a double click. So what I've been trying
to do without any results is to dismantle it in order to
clean it and have it scroll correctly. Could you tell me
how to dismantle my intellimouse properly?

If it's optical then most have rubber pads that have to be peeled off to
access the screws that hold everything together. What do you intend to
clean when you dismantle it?

A hammer would work. Or else, some common sense and a couple of small screw
drivers!
