 How can I put an icon to take me to the desktop in the Start menu in Windows XP? Hi, I've just reformatted my computer which runs Windows XP. My previous installation had been an upgrade from Windows 98, and it had had an icon to take me to the desktop from the toolbar at the bottom of each page. I see no such icon now. How can I put an icon to take me to the desktop in the Start menu in Windows XP? Hubert | Guest

Otherwise, just right click any blank space on the taskbar, and pick "Show the desktop." -- If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32. Getting Messenger popups? Your return to desktop is in the quick launch toolbar - right click on the on the blue bar - toolbars then show quick launch - you may have to resize it to see the icon.
