How can you reboot your system remotely

Posted: 12-10-2003, 01:33 AM
I was wondering how do you setup Remote Desktop to restart your PC? I
install a program remotely and needs to be reboot. I can't remotely reboot
my system. I click on it and nothing happens. Is there some security feature
I need to change so I can do it.

If you bring up the remote Task Manager, with a <Ctrl><Alt><End> key sequence, you can go to
"Shutdown -> Restart". Is that what your after? You can also use the "tsshutdn" or "shutdown"
commands from the command line. Open "Help and Support" and search on each for the proper syntax.

When connected click start and open Windows security
(right above disconnect). It will give you the option to
restart.

Just as an FYI Windows Security will be available from your start menu
depending on group policy.

When logged into a remote computer there should be a
windows security option on the start menu. You will find
what you are looking for here.
