Default How to delete items in start up menu

How do I delete skype, msn messenger, aol im etc from starting up when the
computer initially reboots? It is slowing down my computer from loading and
driving me nuts....
I do not want to remove these items but I just want to use the icons on the
desktop IF I want to start them up..

In addition, whatever you tell me to do...do I need to do this for EACH
person's separate name that uses the computer...????

HELP!

Thanks!

Type msconfig in the Start Search entry box and on the'Startup' tab
remove the apps you don't want running

Hi Andy,

I would first look at each program's settings to disable the "Start
when Windows starts" option. Most programs will give you the option.
It usually depends on what type of program it is on whether you will
have to do it for each user account. Some are universal (EX:
Antivirus), while others are not. You can use this as a guide on how to
remove them from startup.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
