How do I?

My dad bought a used computer from a pawn shop. It is a Dell with XP. It
apparently is NOT a genuine legal copy of Windows XP, because it did not
pass the authenticity test. My dad cannot get windows updates as a result.
Is there anyone at Microsoft I can talk to? What number can I call? Is there
anything I can do? Thanks.

well if you call dell it may still be under Software Support, other than
that you only really have 2 options

1. check the store and see if they had done any reinstalls on it

2. just buy a new LEGAL copy
