How do I access my thumbs file

pictures, taking it to a computer shop to retrieve the
lost data. Was only able to get them back in thumbs data
base file form. But when i try to open it it has this
message "you are attempting to open a file "data base
file" .db. these files are used by the operating system
and by various other programs. editing or modifying them
could damage your system. in short it asks if I want the
web to search for the appropriate program to open it or
select one from my computer. but I dont have that program
on my computer otherwise it would open automatically but
I cannot find something on the net. can some one please
help
