Default How do I create a password reset "disk"

I am a beginner at this. I am trying to input my log-on password to have my
PC set up, but I can't remember what the password is and I need to reset it.
the password "hint" does not help me remember the password. I don't remember
putting the hint in originally. HELP! Gateway computer using Windows Vista
Home Premium

I believe you are required to have created the password reset disk while you
still remembered the password. It asks for the password before it creates
the password reset disk for the current logged on account. If you didn't
have to know the password to make the disk, then anyone could create one and
get into your account.

On my Compaq desktop and a Compaq laptop I helped to set up, both with
preinstalled Vista Home Basic, there was no prompt to make this password
reset disk. I only found out about it by reading this newsgroup.

In help and support, search for the words password reset. One of the items
on the first page of results should be something like 'create password reset
disc'.

I see in another thread someone recommended
Try Elcomsoft System Recovery:
http://www.elcomsoft.com/esr.html

Are you willing to spend $50 to get into your account?
