| Re: How do I get Administrator privaleges? The software you're using may not be designed for Vista. Check with the people who created that software. Better yet, you'd be wise not to install any utilities or security programs at all in Vista. As stuff that works close to the metal like that is best used only on the OS for which it was written. If worse comes to worse and you don't care about the consequences, you could always try booting to Safe Mode and logging into the Adminstrator account. | Re: I dont have norton installed Not all programs designed for XP work in Vista because Vista is a completely new and OS. Most simple apps still work. But anything that works closer to the metal, including utilities, optimizers, and security programs, are best kept away. More likely to do more harm than good. Vista has everything covered except virus protection. So if you just stay away from suspicious downloads and e-mail attachments while in Vista, you'll be fine.
