How do I get vista beta?

Posted: 03-07-2006, 12:28 AM
I was a winxp beta tester, I signed up through microsoft at no cost (I don't
remeber how) and then recieved a discount coupon for use when it was
released. Will there be anything like this for vista? Also I attended a
couple of pre release seminars that I signed up for on one of ms's web sites
will this be available again?

MSDN or TechNet is about the only way right now.

You obtain it through the following channels:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/abo...s/default.mspx

I don't know about discounts, that was Windows XP, this is Windows Vista,
times change.

The April CTP should be a Public release which should be available under
Customer Preview Program free of charge or at a nominal fee for those who
want to receive it on media. I am sure some time during the beta and leading
up to and after RTM, there will be numerous online web cast discussing
Windows Vista. So, you just have to be patient.

Hey:

Have you had any luck finding out how to obtain a beta for Vista?
If you do please let me know and I will do the same.
The Technet seems to be a subscription of >700.00 bucks

Yep, but it's still your only way in.

Its not his only way in, he can wait until the BETA reaches the Customer
Preview Program which is rumored to be when the April CTP (BETA2) build
arrives. If he request media, it probably won't be much, around $10 maybe?
