How do I move the users dir?

I have a second HDD and want all my user files to be stored there how do I
move C:\Users -> D:\Users?

Hi,
Unfortunatelly i tried this solution and it gave me destructive result. I
have Vista Business 64 bit, after operation like it is described in this
article the "regedit" was not found in system, any kind of registry was
unable to open and also profile folders were still on system root partition,
not on other partition like I wanted to have. Probably this works in Windows
XP, but on mine did not work. Is there any other solution for this?

Don't do this, it's unsupported and it will break upgrades.

Instead, you can move the individual folders inside your %USERPROFILE%
directory. Select the folder, right-click, choose Location, and enter the
new location. Windows will move all the files and folders inside that
folder.

Is there no way of doing it (C:\Users --> D:\Users) that IS supported and
won't break upgrades? Is moving individual folders described below the only
alternative?

You say "don't do X" but then don't provide a clear solution on how to
resolve the original problem. I don't want my stuff stored on c:\users\myname
- I want everything to be c:\myname because it is simply easier to navigate,
and I already have a directory structure there.

Furthermore, when I click on "myname" in any of the windows explorer
windows, I want to be taken to my base, which is "c:\myname" and not
"c:\users\myname".

Can you please provide better insight on how to accomplish this?

Is there an answer to this question? I know I can change the location of
music video pictures etc but what I really want to change is the location of
appdata under my user name. Changing the location of all folders in C:\users
would work but how is this done?

I would have thought this would be a default feature in 'Vista' or any
Windows OS.
