I need to reserve a tray for special paper. I created three printers
each with a profile set for the tray preferences (Optra Tray 1 prints
from tray 1, Optra Tray 2 prints from 2,etc). My plan was to have
users chose the printer with the corresponding tray (so as not to
complicate their lives by having to find the tray preference for each
document printed). When the trays are stocked it works fine. However
when one tray runs out, it will draw from another tray, which spoils
my big master plan (some print jobs will require a reload of the tray
and shouldn’t draw from some other tray with regular paper).
I’m trying this on a Lexmark Optra Se 3455 with winXP clients. I would
like it to run out of paper and not continue printing until the tray
is refilled, or not to start the job until paper is put in.
