Default How do I tell Vista beta 2 not to keep my old Windows XP?

Hello,

I have a machine I would like to install Vista beta 2 (public version)
onto an Athlon 64 3200+ machine that already has XP Pro. SP2. I would
like to have Vista use C: drive for installation, but I do not want a
dual boot. I want it to erase C: drive and install cleanly. How can I
force this?

I kept getting dual boot in Windows XP and outside without the option to
make drive C clean. I do want to keep my other partitions that Ghost
images, datas, etc.

Thank you in advance.

Boot from the Disk and select the drive and install, it should over write
the Windows directory and Vista should be your new OS, although, remnants of
the previous OS will be kept in the Windows.old directory, you can safely
delete if your data has been backed up.

Boot the PC with the Vista DVD in the drive and start setup that way.
Choose to do a custom install. During this process you will be presented
with a screen where you can choose the partition on which to install Vista.
Select the existing partition that has XP and delete it. Then choose the
free space created by the deletion as the location on which to install
Vista.

You don't have to delete the partition (and may not want to if it is not the
only partition). Just click on the Format button.
