how do you move songs

Posted: 12-13-2008, 07:01 PM
some time back I had downloaded a bunch of songs by 'various artists' and so
all these people are listed and grouped together in my library under that
heading. I now want to separate some of them out of that group and have them
be listed in my library under their own artist's name. I can't seem to
figure out how to do this.
any suggestions are welcomed
thanks

This may be too obvious but set up a folder for each artist you want, then
go to your 'various artists' folder and cut/paste each song in its rightful
folder.

You wouldn't do it in Media Player. The 'Library' that Media Player refers
to is actually a folder called 'My Music'. Click on Start, then click on My
Music.

Then you can manipulate your songs there.

I know of that, but for some strange reason, when I go to the pertinent
folder in My Music I'm just finding alblum covers not any song files. I do
find song files for other music so it's not all that way, but it is for this
particular one. I am getting frustrated. thanks for trying
