How to make a mobile rack mounted EIDE drive removable (hot swappable)

I have bought a Genica mobile hard drive rack which
houses a 3.5" EIDE drive.
XP Pro see this as a fixed hard drive with no options to
disable it and remove it with the OS running.
Any way I can do this ?
