How to restore VistaBeta back to XP

Posted: 06-26-2006, 01:13 PM
bcoz while u upgrade ur XP to Vista beta 2
they already backup all your system files into a "Windows.old" folder
so r there any way to restore all that Windows old stuff?

Basically delete all the vista system files and put the XP systems files
back in place...

Did they design this restoring feature in the BETA 2?

Actually the Windows.old folder is as old as...well...Windows. I don't
beleive it has ever been possible to do an automated rollback from the
contents of this folder between old and new NT based systems.

Windows.old is not a backup file. You can't restore from it. If you delete
all the Vista system files you still have a Vista registry and so on. Why
did you install Vista on your XP partition this way? If you backed up the
partition before you started you can use the backup program to restore XP.
Otherwise you need to do a clean install of XP to get it back.
