How to undo a restore?

Posted: 08-01-2003, 07:00 PM
Ok i had a such bad day with windows, spended a good 80
hours playing with %@!%$$2154214324 cd trying to solve a
problem, and every single solution seem to bring more
problems, someone help me to solve this plz, so i can
have fun solving the new problem that is bound to emerge.

I made the mistake to wait 30 days before activating.
After the 30 day, the comp ask me at reboot to register
before i can log. Problem is, when i click on "register
now", the screen freeze and nothing happen. Microsoft
consumer service being what it is, i end up, 72 hours
later, trying to figure out how to activate my damned
product.

I could have reinstalled, but i had a very, very
important problam that i cannot reinstall and that i must
preserve.

I managed to use the safe mode to restore my pc to the
day i installed windows, then rebooted, and managed to
register my code. Of course, before i did this, i assured
myself that ALL CHANGE MADE USING THE RESTORE FUNCTION
WERE NON_PERMANENT

Now, i go on help, and see the topic "how to undo your
last restore". 1- run the restore wizard 2- click on undo
last restore.

WHAT "UNDO LAST RESTORE"?? THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON!!

I tryed everything, read every single article in the damn
offline sucky help 3 times, it say EVERYWERE that all
change can be unmade, BUT NOWERE HOW!!!

I tryed to "switch back my comp to an earlier time", NO
RESTORE POINT FOR TODAY!

Please, anyone, how to undo our restore? i really need an
awnser, as soon as possible please, ive been trying to
make my comp work for almost 5 day now and i had more
then enouf of this, please!

It sounds like the Restore did not happen.
If it did not happen, there is nothing to undo.
Even if it did, it the option is not available, you still can not do
it.

You could try a Repair Installation:

>Hey your email link at the Microsoft newsgroup site does
not work. Your issue may be hardware related, such as
possible faulty RAM ( bad memory ), or one device driver
which needs to be updated, most often the video/ display.
Be sure to have at least 256 MB of RAM. Did you try
that "last known good configuration" from rebooting to the
safe mode menu ? How old is your PC ? If more than 3-4
years old, your BIOS may need to be flashed with an update.
By the way what is the exact problem your PC has now which
makes you need to undo a restore?
