hp 6730s webcam driver freezes xp

hi,

i have a hp6730s laptop with a built-in webcam (chicony). the webca
driver is causing windows xp to freeze indefinitely at shut down (o
standby, or restart). uninstalling the driver solves the problem, bu
windows automatically reinstalls it at startup. you see my problem.

is there any way to make windows not detect/reinstall driver for th
built-in webcam?
