HP Office Jet 710

I am using Windows XP and trying to connect it to HP
OfficeJet 710 (printer/scanner/fax). I keep getting an
error message that the PC and the printer are not
connected. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program,
changed the printer cable still the issue is unresolved.
Any suggestions?
