Hp Photosmart Printer Install Issue

At the end of SW drivers install (after the printer is
connected) an error dialog appears that says; "The
Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This
can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if
the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.
Contact your support personnel for assistance." If I
select OK then the software automatically uninstalls.
The last time I did not select OK and just did a shutdown
and it appears the software is installed but in Chinese
or Japanese. HP is no help.

I have never had this issue before and have installed
dozens of programs and the machine is not in safe mode.
My anti virus software is disabled.

Hi

Are you using Roxios Go Back? If so you'll have to uninstall it along with
any other Norton goodies such as Norton Utilities and Anti Virus.

I was having an absolute bugger of a time installing a Photosmart 7350
untill I found this out however my Photosmart 1218 installed fine.

Once you have sucessfully installed the printer you can reinstall the
software.
