hpbpsttp.exe caused Windows XP startup crashes

Posted: 01-22-2006, 10:57 PM
My laptop was crashing at startup, sometimes repeatedly, for months. I
finally found the time to go into msconfig (Start, Run, msconfig -- there are
instructions on how to do this at the microsoft website) uncheck just about
everything, add them back in one at a time, and track down an exe file that
had been causing my problems: c:\program
files\hewlett-packard\toolbox\hpbpsttp.exe. I unchecked it -- it no longer
invokes at startup -- and my problems are resolved.
