I can't rip in MP3 format using version10 media player

Posted: 07-22-2006, 08:52 PM
I am trying to rip CD's I own onto my hard drive in MP3 format, using Media
Player version 10. I get an error message saying: "WMP cannot rip the track
because a compatible MP3 encoder is not installed." Then it tells me to
either install one or use another format such as WMA.

I'm new to this but I have had success ripping in the default format. I
thought the version 10 WMP supported MP3. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
