I know--ANOTHER NO SOUNDS issue

After upgrading form Windows Home to Prof, after working
thru a few problems with video, I have no sound. My
audio is on-board and enabled. I've downloaded the new
drivers AND have ugraded my Bios. I've talked to HP
(it's a HP pavilion 762n) and their response was to just
go out and buy a separate sound card. Like DUH!
Can anyone out there possibly help me?
