| I have a home network using a router that is both a switch and wireless. I want to be able to access any folder or file from any computer on the network without having to go through all of the hassle of the the new security puts me through. I don't have a need for the complicated security a large installation with many users needs. I own everything and want access to everything from any computer at any time. How do I get this kind of access in a simple way. In order to get access to an external drive on one of my computers I had to spend about an hour and a half trying to figure out what else I needed to do. I'm getting really tired of getting messages that I don't have permission for that, all of the time. Every new operating system Microsoft has come out with has made computers harder to use. What happened to "User Friendly?" Sincerely, Bruce Feezel brucef@clearwire.net | Guest

| If the security is not concerned, you may share the drive like C and assign everyone full permission. -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "Bruce Feezel" <Bruce Feezel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CBDC12EE-A279-495A-A480-E99B00178369@microsoft.com... | I have tried that and it doesn't work, so what else should I try? I can't get access on other computers to C or Program Files or Main User. The only thing I can get access to is a folder called "Public" that is not one that I use or even know where it is. I do have visibility between the computers and have turned on sharing and granted full permissions to Everyone. Thank you. "Robert L. | When you assigned permission to everyone, have you also did on the Security tab? Or this search result may help.
