i8042

Hi,

Anyone know why I'm getting this error message?

Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 7026
Source: Service Control Manager
Version: 5.0
Component: System Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_DRIVERS_FAILED
Message: The following boot-start or system-start driver
(s) failed to load: i8042prt

I have an Explorer Trackball and an Office Keyboard
connected to USB ports, so I don't know why the OS is
calling on a PS/2 driver. No issue with use, but I want
to know why this error message appears.

even though no ps2 devices are plugged in, your bios is still reporting
them. you can safely ignore this error.
