IDE devices show as SCSI devices, why?

Posted: 01-05-2004, 12:21 AM
In system manager and 3rd party apps, my optical and ide hard drive shows as a SCSI device when it is not. There are no SCSI devices in my system. I can not use my lame or any MP3 ripper and my DVD RW drive does work properly for DVD backup. Any Ideas?

System:
AMD64 3200
Raid 0 array as primary drive.
IDE backup drive
Pioneer 106-D DVD RW
Kenwood CDROM

Software that does not work ( so far )
Lame
DVD X Copy Platinum
Any other Optical drive ripper ...
