1) You were using a Vista Beta. You "updated" how? Did you format the Beta
while installing Vista RTM?

2) What OS do you have on your box now?

If you have Vista RTM on your box now, run SFC by typing cmd into the search
box above Start Button>then right click the word cmd when it comes up at the
top>click "run as admin">at the cmd prompt type "sfc /scannow" without the
quotes.
